The Blackberry Boy

Last to last week, I got a Blackberry phone :O.. Hurray!!! I am really happy about the same, as you may be knowing that before a few weeks, I had also purchased an Android phone, and wrote about the same in my post “The Android Fever“.

Before reading this post, do see the following image.

The latest acquisition of mine is the mighty “Blackberry” phone whose brand is extremely famous for the elite / BUSINESS class mobile phones. I must say that, Blackberry phones are not phones but sort of embedded computers.  The 21st century creations have made it possible to carry a computer inside your pocket. It’s the current trend that you see, major companies such as Nokia, Sony, Samsung putting efforts for their “Operating System” enhanced smartphones.

Such smartphones make it worth to buy, as you can install thousands and thousands of application for ease and moreover, as a developer, you can submit your apps to Nokia Ovi Store and the Android App Market place and SELL your mobile softwares.  Sounds fun! but it is going to be a great source of income.

People won’t mind a few dollars to spend on a worthy application. But what happens when you get over thousands of people funding you thousands of dollars for downloading your mobile applications. On the long run, this business strategy will make freelancers survive out of recession.

Lets get back to the point.

Blackberry is a series of mobile e-mail and smartphone devices developed and designed by RIM {Don’t be confused with Reliance India Mobile, RIM is “Research in Motion”} since 1999.
Blackberry phones are used as PDAs i.e. Personal Digital Assistants.
It’s really famous for “push” button e-mail and lots of similar applications.
Don’t ever forget that Blackberry still commands 14.8% share of worldwide smartphone sales, making it the 5th most popular device manufacturer after Nokia, Samsung, LG and Apple. The Blackberry Internet Service is available in nearly 91 countries on over 500 mobile service providers.
Blackberry Messenger is the “chief” feature of all blackberry devices.
It is a properietary Internet based instant messenger application, which allows messaging between Blackberry users. It was developed by RIM, the makers of Blackberry.
Messenge sent through BBM are sent over the Internet and use the Blackberry PIN system, so communication stays between two devices. For using apps such as BBM, you will have to subscribe for Blackberry Internet Service, which  costs nearly Rs.599/Month {Unlimited Blackberry Internet Service +Browsing For Postpaid customers of Idea}.
A major thing that you should remember is BBM is a secured way to chat and the information won’t ever get spyed. ;-) This is the “edge” with which, BlackBerry is the secret black box of  every businessman.

And once you get an UNLIMITED BROWSING plan, you can download tonnes of applications for free as well as payment.

Also note that, Blackberry App World has the best apps for every productivity feature you could think of.

Blackberry phones worth a try.

I would advice you to see this video as well. I love this song..

“We wear cool suits… We wear Shiny Shoes.. We are the Blackberry Boys.. !!”
