Block unwanted sites

Time and again, it must have happened with you that you wish to block web sites under certain niche at your business / work place / home / institution. You may want to do this because of competitive environment of the corporate world or preventing your kids from accessing time-wasters like social networking web sites, video sharing web sites.. or your employees from accessing job searching sites that would affect your business strategy..  What if your competitor hires up your employees for a bit more of money….

It’s very true that you always want to block certain sites at your campus and you may find yourself to be helpless at this.

People have become smart.. Now your silly C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts trick will not work.. Do not forget that GOOGLE Chrome has DNS prefetch.

What if they have some alternate DNS Server other than your normal ISP provider..

Access your personalized dashboard. Go to settings and adjust the filter as per your requirements.

Linux : Download DDClient

Once you download “OpenDNS Updater”, you will have to sign in using your OpenDNS login credentials and then add your current PC to one of your “named” networks..

Now, you are ready with all sorts of filters for annoying web sites. :O…
