People have always been seen to have interest in modifying their user interface for their favorite Operating System. When it comes to Linux, there are numerous open source applications available, which let you customize the interface up-to infinity.
Moreover, when, a company uses a set of computers, it always wants everything to be trademarked under it’s name, so that if the system is showcased at an exhibition or to any individual, it provides them with the touch of COMPANY’s theme. For the same, there are numerous softwares available. We will go through some of it in the following manner.
1)First of all, let’s deal with the login screen,
Think of a good background and design it in Photoshop. Then export it as a JPEG Image file. And now use the software “Star Dock Logon Studio”, to set an image as the background for your windows login screen.
2) Install “Rocket Dock” and have a Macintosh like experience on your Windows PC. It’s fun to play with the animating icons on the small rectangular bar. You can change the theme of the same in order to adjust with your personality
.
Furthermore, you can also adjust the opacity and transparency level. This will make you more comfortable.
3) Install Task Switch. You don’t like the traditional task switch i.e. the screen which appears when you press ALT+TAB.. So, in that case, it is recommended to install task switch. It’s a bit professional looking screen and more informative than the traditional ones. Here’s a preview.
4)Install “Launchy”. The traditional “RUN” window is not soothing to the eyes. So switch to Launchy and experience a high tech system of launching applications.
There are lots more software to be installed. But wait, I have to submit some assignments at school tomorrow. So will post again after a day or two.
With Regards
Shashi
