Ra One is a 2011 Indian science fiction superhero film, written and reicted by Anubhav Sinha. The film, which features Shahrukh Khan in DOUBLE roles , as a game developer and his superhero look-alike G One. Chinese -American actor Tom Wu appear in supporting roles, along with Rajnikanth, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra making guest appearances.
The movie has been jointly produced by Eros International Ltd. and SRK’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. .
The initial development of the RA-ONE project dates back to 2004 when Mr. Sinha wrote a three page short story based on a commercial he had seen on a television channel.
It was to be actually released by 3rd June 2011 but due to the extensive use of special 3D effects and promotional works, its release was postponed to 26th October 2011 (Diwali).
This movie costed the producers a grand sum of money worthing naerly 175 Crores of Indian National Rupees equivalent to 39 Million US Dollars. It’s the most expensive movie made in Bollywood beating the BUDGET record of Enthiran (Hindi/Eng:ROBOT).
Prior to it’s cross border release, it had multiple premiers in Dubai, London and Canada (GTA). The film had released at a very large scale covering 5000 Auditorium Screens wolrwide in 2d and around 600 screens in 3d, along with its dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu and German, making it the largest Indian cinematic release in the world.
The film boasts of it’s sci-fi plot which is definitely a soothing pearl for technocrats.
It has numerous digital effects that make it really charming. And yes, this movie does have cool songs and one of them is along with famous Snoope Dogg.
RA ONE is not only a scientific fiction movie but also has a great moral story that always, it’s the spirit of truth and benovelence that wins over the evil powers.
The villain in movie is really powerful and has several artificial intelligences to program itself for improvement and avoid dangers that were encountered earlier.
The base line of story lies in a technology developed by a fictious company named “Barron Industries”, which had designed a special mechanism of transfer of data through different types of rays and it could blend the real and virtual world. The base of story then moves to the tech geek kid Lucifer (a.k.a. Prateek), who during the launch of the game designed by his father, ends up not completing the game, forcing RA ONE to enter into reality to finish the game. I must not forget to mention again that, 3rd level is the level at which G ONE can kill RA ONE only with their HARTS connected to the system.
Despite of the gracious power of the villain (RA-ONE), the protector i.e. G. ONE (look alike of the Game Developer Jenny Nayar) begins to realise humanism and relations. G One is always helpful for the sweet kid of Nayar (Prateek) and Nayar’s wife (Sonia, played by Kareena Kapoor).
And some how, with lot of action, the movie ends with G ONE absorbing the radiations of RA ONE and taking him to the world where they actually belonged to.
This is a MUST WATCH for kids and teenagers who love adventurous stories.
