Image searching!

Image searching is surely new to every one..
When I first heard about it, I thought its great!

I found two types of image search: First one was to search for “Similar Images”.

Similar Images

This one is provided by Google too and is used to search for images similar to the ones in search result(just like similar pages). You just have to search for some images and click on Similar Images link below the ones you find interesting!

Second one, which is still in Beta version is uploading an image and searching for it. This is a comparatively new technology, so I thought of testing it (:

There’s a Website TinyEye which is a reverse image search engine..

TinyEye offered a good method and was easy to use. You can upload images or give its URL.

I uploaded an image of Stephen Hawking’s book A Brief History Of Time and got 38 results in just a few seconds..

Then I also found a surprising image search engine which allows you to Draw an image roughly similar to what you are searching for! Its called Lococitato.

It also has an upload option which I would prefer to drawing!

The new system of Lococitato impressed me a lot.

I would also like to inform you all about Google Goggles(for Android), Point & Find(for Nokia), and Tag(by Microsoft), three applications for image search using your mobile camera!

These are great technologies which define our future and are very useful to us..
